The Avoidable Deaths Network (ADN) is pleased to announce the upcoming Special Sessions and Workshop.
There are two types of Special Sessions: closed and open. The closed Special Sessions are facilitated by the ADN’s Organisational Partners for closed audiences or participants. The participants are, generally speaking, policymakers, NGOs and first responders involved in risk, crisis, disasters and development activities in low-and middle-income countries. The topics for the closed Special Session are decided by the participants keeping in mind their needs for skill and capacity building. These Special Sessions are unavailable to the general public, ADN’s Affiliates and Partners.
The open Special Sessions are open to the general public, ADN’s Affiliates and Partners. These Sessions are also facilitated by the ADN’s Organisational Partners in their respective countries and regions. They are designed to share cutting-edge research and innovative solutions to reduce disaster deaths, avoidable deaths, transdisciplinary ideas and solutions for sustainable development and disaster risk reduction – among other topics. These Sessions are suitable for disaster responders, students, academics, researchers, policymakers, opinion formers, and practitioners interested in avoidable deaths, the UN’s Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction’s Global Targets A and B, and the Sustainable Development Goals.
