Candidates and Members: Walk the Rogers Christmas Parade with BCRW Friday

Friday night, December 4, Benton County Republican Women has a parade entry in the Rogers Christmas Parade. The parade starts at 7:00 pm. Anyone wishing to walk with us needs to be at the Rogers Heritage High School stadium parking lot by 6:30.

Our Entry

Our entry is Carrie's black Corvette, two walkers in front with our brand-spanking-new BCRW banner, and Republican walkers. BCRW has paid the fee so there is no cost for the candidates to participate in our parade entry. We are #58 so it's near the back.

There is a theme they would like us to incorporate: Twas the Light Before Christmas. Maybe we could all wear those battery-powered strands of Christmas lights. Ideas welcome.

Candidate Promotion Guidelines

Candidates can hold signs and wear their logo candidate apparel. Rogers has assured us there will be more formal rules about that next year. Let's not go overboard so maybe they will craft more lenient rules.

It would be okay if a candidate wanted to walk the route to hand out candy attached to their campaign business card while a friend walked with the candidate's sign. KIDS ARE WELCOME TO WALK. The walkers can be anyone who wants to walk. The idea is to show up in big numbers though. Please wear red.

Needs:
  • Two volunteers to carry the parade banner through the route.
  • To light the Corvette garland (Carrie has no idea how to do that).
  • Walkers to show support for our party.
  • It would be IDEAL to have a Christmas character in the passenger seat (it cannot be a Santa).
More info coming on our website (like the route) at http://citizensengaged.com/bcrw-parade-fun/.

What About the Bentonville Parade?

Save the date for Bentonville:
  • Bentonville Christmas Parade 11am on Saturday, December 12
The Bentonville Christmas Parade briefing is Friday. We'll have more details after that. We're trying to find out the exact rules for individual candidate promotion. It is much more restrictive in Bentonville.
