AHTA Annual General Meeting Tuesday June 30th at 8.30am

The Annual General Meeting of the Antigua Hotels & Tourist Association will take place at 8.30am on Tuesday June 30th in the new Conference facility at the Sugar Ridge Hotel.

At this meeting a new Board of Directors will be elected. We encourage you to attend and show your support for the Association. To vote in the elections you must be financially up to date.

Emil Lee, President of the Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association will be joining us on this occasion to give the feature address

At the conclusion of the AGM we will be presenting certificates to the successful awardees of the CHTA Education Foundation Scholarships

French Classes
We invite your front line employees or persons with a  passion for the French language  to be a  part  of our 12 week courses for Beginners and Intermediary. Classes start on July 6th. Intemediary classes will be held on Mondays and Beginners on Tuesday evenings from 5.30pm to 7.30pm in the class room at the AHTA office on Newgate Street.

Italian Classes
We know that many properties welcome visitors from Italy so we are inviting your front line employees or any persons with a  passion for the Italian  language  to be a part our 12 week courses for Beginners & Intermediary Italian. Classes start on July 1st. Beginners classes will be held on Wednesday evenings  and Intermediary on Thursday evenings from 5.30pm to 7.30pm  in the class room at the AHTA office on Newgate Street.

CHTA calls for new Caribbean Basin Initiative focused on tourism

Challenges U.S. & Region's Leaders to Stimulate Economies, Reduce Unemployment Through Tourism

The Caribbean Hotel & Tourism Association (CHTA), representing the private sector tourism interests of the region, is calling for the establishment of a Caribbean Basin Tourism Initiative (CBTI) to address the region's socio-economic challenges and create new opportunities for stimulating trade, travel and investment throughout the region. The recommendation is presented in a position paper which CHTA released this week titled Cuba: The Great Disruption for the Good of the Caribbean. The Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association cordially invites you to highly stimulating and informative four-day workshop that will showcase Singapore’s model for tourism product development, hosted by The Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO), in partnership with the Barbados Hotel & Tourism Association. This workshop takes place from 13-16 July 2015 at the Radisson Aquatica Resort Barbados, Barbados.
