Library & JCC Host Literary Event 


The Woodbridge Town Library and the JCC of Greater New Haven present “One Community, One Read.” Both organizations are encouraging community members to read The Paris Architect by Charles Belfoure and attend a discussion with the author on Wednesday, September 14 @ 7pm at the JCC.

Copies of the title are available to borrow at the library.


Person of the Month: Garden Club

First Selectman Ellen Scalettar recognized the Garden Club of Woodbridge as September's Person of the Month. 

The Club's focus is civic improvement through landscaping and beautifying the center of town. Garden Club members design, plant and manage many public gardens

Road Paving


Earlier this week Public Works began reclaiming the following roads in the listed order.

Beechwood Road, Hemlock Hollow Road, Indian Trail Road and Dillon Road (Amity Rd. to Blue Trail Dr.)

Later this month those same roads will be repaved in the listed order.

Through October 1:  Town of Woodbridge Elderly & Totally Disabled Tax Relief Program for renters. For details contact Town Assessor at 203-389-3416.   

October 1 – October 31: Woodbridge Fallapalooza. Family fun, events & activities throughout October.        

Through October 29: Household Hazardous Waste at Regional Water Authority, 90 Sargent Dr., New Haven. Saturdays, 9 am – Noon.

Sunday, 9/4  Celebrate Massaro Farm Centennial Dinner –farm tour, silent auction, open bar and meal by Chef Denise Appel incorporating local food,  brew & farm vegetables. 4:30-9 pm, $175 pp. Tickets here  or mail check to Massaro Farm (41 Ford Rd, Woodbridge).
Tuesday, 9/6  Senior Center: Ice Cream and Sundae Bar during the lunch program ($3). Plus, Bob Giannotti will perform following lunch at 12:45 pm.
Wednesday, 9/7  Senior Center Class: Painting for Pleasure.  10 am-Noon every Wednesday for 10 weeks, Senior Center Café (4 Meetinghouse Lane).  Register:  203-389-3430.
Thursday, 9/8   One Community, One Read ArtScapades event- "Art Under Siege…Paris 1937 to 1945” to be presented by ArtScapades’ Robin Hoffman & Jodi Stiffelman, 7 pm, Woodbridge Town Library (10 Newton Road). The talk is part of the One Community One Read program.

Tuesday, 9/13  Senior Center: Getting Help at Home presented by VNA following lunch, 12:45-1:45pm.

Wednesday, 9/14   iPad Classes with the Senior Center and Woodbridge Town Library.  Three classes on Wednesdays at 1 p.m. Free. Registration required:  203-389-3430.

Wednesday, 9/14   One Community, One Read AuthorTalk The Woodbridge Town Library and JCC are encouraging everyone to read The Paris Architect by Charles Belfoure. A book discussion with the author is at 7 pm, at the JCC (360 Amity Rd., Woodbridge). Register here.

Thursday, 9/15   Senior Center Class:  Cooking for Everybody with Chef David Fein sponsored by Brookdale. 9:30 am every Thursday through Oct. 6th.  No cost, 8-10 available spots. Registration required: 203-389-3430.

Friday, 9/16   Application Deadline for Motor Vehicle Board of Assessment Appeals.   Applications are available in the Assessor’s Office (11 Meetinghouse Lane) or
online.  Board of Assessment Appeals Meeting scheduled for September 21 (6 pm) will only address filed applications.
Friday, 9/16   Back to School Bash. “Meltdown” Inflatable, DJ, Dancing, Snacks & More!  7-9:30 pm.  $5 Fee, 7-8th grade Woodbridge/ Bethany students. Woodbridge Center Green/Center Gym if rain (4 Meetinghouse Lane). Volunteers /Donations call 203-389-2439.
