Good morning everyone and welcome to the December newsletter.  

Wow...where is 2015 going?  Are you ready for more festivities??  I love how the Thanksgiving door closes and the Christmas one opens, already, houses are lined with beautiful lights and Santa Claus is appearing on every corner :-)

I managed to sneak in a family shoot with some dear friends recently....and when I came to select my favourites to share with you, it was very difficult....some of my favourite images are exactly that to me because they display the fun and character of the people - they aren't necessarily the most perfect images and may not win competitions!! I guess that is what I'm trying to achieve every time I do a shoot - capture the 'real' people in a way that they enjoy reliving; the difference with shooting people you know very well, is, you know when you've got it!  Thanks so much guys...you were all wonderful...so much fun :-)

New 2016 Blog - 'Capture This'

Thank you so much to my followers from the 2015 blog, I have enjoyed creating it and working through each topic with you and hopefully you have managed to take over some of those settings that you may have left to the camera in the past!
 
It's not like I have been wishing for the 2015 blog to finish :-) but more that I can't wait for the 2016 blog to start!!  I came up with the idea quite a few months ago and have slowly been refining how I want to create it.  The blog is designed for anyone who likes taking photographs and would like to improve their photography through a practical and applied approach.

Each month, I will concentrate on a specific photographic subject, it could be nature, sports, still life or anything really.  I will post between 2 and 3 blogs and lots of images.  I will share with you my thoughts, camera settings and any other, hopefully, 'gems' of information as I progress through shooting and learning the subject.  At the end of the month, I hope to have better images than at the beginning!!

I would love if you could come along too!  We may even set up a few workshops if the subjects are interesting to the group.  So go ahead, sign up and I look forward to the adventure and to developing all of our portfolios!!

Little Ditty About My Own Camera Fun - Fall Japenese Maple

So one of my project for this year was to decorate my office with some of my images.  Needless to say, I have still not got there (the office was finished in May!!)...but I thought I'd share with you where I was up to.  My latest favourite option is the fall colors in the Japenese Maple tree in our yard.  Here are a few of my images, complete with raindrops and stepladder...no challenge was too tricky!
