The latest and greatest comes from the impressive building that is Pleasant Hill City Hall!  I love business profile portraits and especially when the location has so much to offer...there are a few of my favorites, but not necessarily standard business portraits below.

The special this month is really fun and a thanks for everyone who talks about their photography experience with me!  Check out the details below.

For the photographer in you is a quick tip this month, but one that can help to improve your photography tremendously while doing something most of us love!

For the Photographer in You - Consume Images!

An avid reader consumes books.  The same could be said for an avid photographer. By looking at other people's images, you can learn a lot, especially if you take the time to analyse the image - what do you like about it?  What don't you like about it?  Where is the subject?  How much space is the subject taking in the image? What is surrounding the subject? Do you like it?  What colours do you like, don't you like? And the list goes on and on!

One website in love to look at the images on is the BBC.  They have a whole section called 'In pictures' which is updated daily.  It includes images by professional photographers on specific topics as well as images sent in by the public.  There is also a weekly section which takes some of the best current affairs images from around the world and presents a handful to the viewer.

Here is an example from a business claiming to be the oldest photography firm in the industry.  They have just released images that were taken by their business in 1852!!

This is a direct link to the galleries they have right now. -

As always...enjoy your photography!!

Little Ditty About My Own Camera Fun - Professional Photographers Association - Western District Competition

I always try to enter at least two portrait competitions each year and this one is a great place to start.  They offer a video review of each image so you can really see what the judges like or don't like about your image. I think it's a great way to have your images assessed and to see new ways of improving.  Of course it can also be a little disheartening, when they put a dent in your ego!!!! :-(  Especially when you think you have a winner!  It definitely keeps you fresh and constantly analyzing the quality of my images...which is ultimately what I want!  Lets see where these ones go....
