Newsletter June 2015

Hello everyone,

Thanks for tuning into my June newsletter, I just had to share this image of our gorgeous puppy at full speed towards me; she is pretty quick!

This month's newsletter comes with a couple of June special offers, including a great one for Father's Day!  I also share my latest and greatest...a really fun soccer shoot!  Take a look below for some of the images.  I absolutely love action photography and booking me to cover your sports team of 10 or more players works out really affordable.

June brings us the end of another school year!  Fathers day on the 21st of June and the first day of summer yay!!!  Donald Duck was born in June 1934, if only everyone could be so popular for so long!

Also another month goes by for the 'You're Smarter Than Your Camera Blog' and I can't believe we are onto white balance and lighting, so if you want to get a better grip on your images, sign up below, or just check out the blog on my website.

For my own little ditty and...for the few remaining days before summer, I couldn't resist including a few spring flowers as's just so gorgeous in the Danville hills at the moment :-)

Lastly, my quote of the month is the story of the two wolves....yep, just seem Tomorrowland :-)

Anyway, enjoy the newsletter and your June and I look forward to hearing from you,

Tracey xxx

Thank you, thank you to my good friend who asked me to shoot her son during one of his soccer games. He was awesome and I really hope the images reflect the great athlete he is!  This was so much fun and challenging.  It is such a different viewing experience when following a player and not always the action :-) Love it!

For the Photographer in You - 'You're Smarter Than Your Camera!' - June - White Balance and Lighting!
Have you ever noticed that your images sometimes have a color cast in them.  There is a little too much green or magenta where there shouldn't be?  Did you know that all light comes with a color temperature and if photographers don't take this into consideration, their images will include a color cast and white objects may not appear to be white.
Have you ever zoomed into the individual pixels in a digital image?  You should try it, you might be surprised to see how many different colors go into making a single one when you are zoomed out.  Also, you may notice that around your subject, there are a variety of colors that you don't notice as much when you are zoomed out.
There are things you can do to improved your images when working with challenging light sources.  Check out the June blog if you would like to know more!

Little Ditty About My Own Camera Fun - Spring Flowers in the Danville Hills
I recently read a blog entitled 'You Know You're a Photographer When...'
A couple of the comments really made me smile -
- You get upset when you don't have your camera on you.
- Your camera runs out of battery before any other gadget
- You think the sound of a camera shutter is pleasurable
- you get annoyed at people who buy top-of-the-line-cameras only to take selfies

It was cute...if you'd like to read the whole article, you can find it here.

Anyway, I did have my camera and here are some of the lovely flowers I shot.  I thought the aerial view on the last image lent itself to black and white really well.  What do you think?
Quote of the Month

An old Cherokee is teaching his grandson about life -

“A fight is going on inside me,” he said to the boy."It is a terrible fight and it is between two wolves. One is evil – he is anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego.” He continued, “The other is good – he is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith. The same fight is going on inside you – and inside every other person, too.”

The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather, “Which wolf will win?”

The old Cherokee simply replied, “The one you feed.”.' ~ Old Cherokee wisdom
