For the Photographer in You!!!
So recently a few people have mentioned to me that they love having photos of their immediate family on their walls, but were concerned that perhaps it isn't always what they want to show visitors...not to mention the fact that they have several galleries of artwork from other family times. So how do you keep your walls current and your desire to put your family on the walls everywhere, while offering non-family visitors something interesting to look at! Enter the portrait-landscape...or portscape :-) Don't worry...I'm not about to patent that name anytime soon!!!
Here are a couple that I have created recently! I just love that the family can be in them, but that the family also doesn't take over the image completely....not that I don't like close up portraits...I love them....as I'm sure most of you know! This is just a different idea...I'd love to get any feedback you might have..is this something you would consider putting on a wall? I think the scope is endless....from iconic images that are easily recognizable, to beautiful landscape that is local and personal.
Interestingly the families that I have experimented with on this are families of three people....perhaps that symmetry isn't an accident....look out for more configurations with families differing numbers of family members :-)
If you feel like trying this out yourself....make sure you get a minimum of 2 landscape photographs for each scene....a tripod would be useful, but not necessary! Then there are lots of ways to stitch them together...and then break them apart again....I use photoshop!
