Newsletter January 2020

Good morning everyone! Do a little dance...skip into the sunshine, rain, snow.  It's 2020.  The year of vision, a new decade...will it be the roaring 20's all over again?

We are half way through the school year and I thought this is a great month to show off a recent senior that I photographed in 2019!  She was just lovely...see some of her pictures below in the latest and greatest!

The business spotlight features me this month...only fair that I get a bit of a look in, on this section!  I have some exciting advertising coming up and wanted to share it with you.

January is also when I feel most grateful for all of you!!  Check out the January special...actually it's an all year round special...designed to get you talking, texting, emailing.

For the photographer in you launches a new year with a bit of a theme...capturing those spontaneous moments!  I expect to run a few training courses this year so do get in touch if you want to be included on the emails!

My own camera fun comes from Natural Bridges as does the panoramic passion.  Just north of Santa Cruz, the beach holds a beautiful natural rock arch that is a great sunbathing place for the pelicans in the area...check out some of the pictures of a recent sunset below!!

The panoramic passion picture shows a local fisherman with a view everyone would want while waiting for the perfect catch.

I wish you all a Happy New Year and hope you have a wonderful year.  Thanks so much for sticking with me so far on my journey...I can't wait to see what 2020 brings for all of us!

Cheers,

~ Tracey xxx

Latest and Greatest - Senior Spirit

Thank you to this wonderful senior for asking me to photograph her in her final year of high school!  She was quite the model I think you'll agree!! All the pictures were from the One Room School House which really does offer such a beautiful location at any time of year.  It also works so well for seniors...something about taking pictures at a school as they are leaving to embark on their own!  Thanks again!

Business Spotlight - Yours Truly!

I’m so excited to let you into a little advertising we're embarking on!  From this month, we will have an advertising banner on the football field at Monte Vista!  Above is a sneak preview….look out for it if you are watching sports at Monte Vista!!

January Special - Thank You!

I am always thrilled when clients love what I do and refer me to their friends and family.  For January I would like to say a big thank you to everyone has thought of me for pictures and either booked me themselves or recommended me to anyone!!

I love what I do and am so grateful that you allow me to do it for you!!  This year anyone who refers me to a new client who books a session with me will enjoy $25 towards any products they want to purchase from an old or new session and the referred client will also enjoy $25.  No limits....they just keep adding up!!

For the Photographer in You -
New for 2020!!

This section of my newsletter has ranged from being quite technical to advice on what to wear for family photos.  This year, I would like to stick with the theme of capturing pictures as we go through our everyday lives.  It’s wonderful to book professional photography sessions and sometimes essential.  But those everyday moments are happening all the time and we don’t want to miss out on those either.  2020 will see a collection of articles that will help you to be prepared and to capture those spontaneous moments in the best way you can.  I’m hoping that they won’t be too tricky, but will allow growth for you in various areas of photography....as always, please email me if you have any questions or thoughts on the topics, I'd be more than happy to explain further!

Lets start with this month and a very easy way of working to adopt!  We all want to capture those spontaneous pictures...kids doing funny things, a single look from a family member...how can we get better at this?  Or when we are on holiday...sometimes there is so much to photograph and we rush around trying to capture it all...looking for the jewel.  Its important to remember that there is the opportunity for interesting pictures everywhere you look!  Sometimes, its better to slow down, stay put, and see what comes to you.  You will find that things do and that you will be better prepared when they do!  So next time...pick a spot...be it the kitchen, under the tree in the park, your favorite table at your favorite coffee shop and slow down...see what comes to you!  Needless to say you need to keep your camera with you...even if its your phone.

Know that I will also be doing this...so hope to see you out there and would love to hear your stories!! :-)

Little Ditty About My Own Camera Fun - Frosty Diablo

I was lucky enough to get to visit the UK last November and I spent the day with an amazing landscape and wildlife photographer who I have loved for years!! We raced around the beautiful county of Dorset and captured a collection of amazing pictures!  I will definitely be featuring them throughout the year both in the newsletter and online, but upon my return I was inspired to get out and collect some pictures from a local area.  The pictures below are from Nature Bridge…we were so lucky with the beautiful sunset!
