Newsletter July 2015

Hello everyone,

Well the holidays are certainly in full swing, camps abound and less routine becomes the norm.  We are enjoying day trips and family holidays that are difficult to fit into the busy schedule of the school season and its a great time to also make sure you get those photos of the kids while they are busy about their fun activities.  This month and for August, don't miss the holiday photography could win a free photo session.

Let's see, July, hmmm, well there's Independence Day and I'm sure the history isn't news to anyone, but did you know that there have been 28 versions of the U.S. Flag and the most recent one, designed after Alaska and Hawaii joined the United States was the result of a school project in which the artist (Robert Heft) only got a B.  After his flag won the competition, his teacher adjusted the grade to an A (~ Farmers Almananc 2009).

I hope you all have wonderful holidays and don't forget to take your camera out with you to capture those precious moments....and of course, send them onto me to enter the competition.

Best wishes and thanks for reading the July newsletter.

Little Ditty About My Own Camera Fun - Beachy Times...
Had to do a beach theme of course...this is a run down beach near Capitola. There's something really magical about going on a beach close to sunset.  It seems like the sounds and smells get stronger to draw you in.  I think this is true of the objects as well - they seem to get a definition that you don't see earlier in the day and although the colours in these images seem dull, it really creates the atmosphere of the evening...mist rolling in, but still a hint of sunshine breaking though. We didn't even mind that it was a little brisk :-)

Quote of the Month

I'm afraid this has to follow the beach theme :-) -

“I look forward to the day when the biggest decision I have to make is what cocktail I'm going to sip on while laying on the beach all day” ~ unknown.
