Yard Sale

St. Mark’s Yard Sale Committee is planning the Annual Yard Sale and hopes that you are too!
Please start planning what you would like to contribute to the sale as well as when you would like to volunteer to help during the sorting/pricing work times: Saturday July 28 and July 30 - August 2 and sale day August 3 - 4.
If you plan to donate jewelry, please bring it to the church office as soon as possible.

You might think that the yard sale sounds like a lot of work - and it is! But it’s a lot of fun, too! And remember, if you help get ready for the sale, you get to shop early!

Please stop by the sign up board on the patio and let us know when you plant to help with preparation and on sale days—August 3-4. There will be things suitable for all ages and levels of mobility.

Sierra Service Project

The SSP team is leaving in less than 3 weeks for Chiloquin, Oregon, and they would love to hear from you while they are there. If you would like to write a letter of encouragement, or just say hi, the counselors will deliver the mail to the SSP staff to hand out during the week. As per SSP tradition, the youth will receive their mail only if they perform a song/dance routine that the counselors will be sure to take photos of to share when we return.
To mail letters directly, send to:

Thank you for all of your support and we will be excited to share our experiences when we return.

Summer Break for Wednesday Bible Study

Bill Galante’s Wednesday night Bible Study will enjoy a summer break now through St. Mark’s Yard Sale. We will give our time and service at the sale. Bible Study will resume on Wednesday August 8 at 5:30 PM in the New Room. Everyone is welcome.

Back to School Backpacks

Community Christian Service Agency (CCSA) Backpack Program is underway. St. Mark’s hopes to collect 75 packs for local students in K-9th grade. We will collect new backpacks and school items through July 22 when we will bless the packs and their eventual recipients during church. The flyer and backpack listing is in the church office or you can go to for more information. Thanks in advance for your generosity.

Memorial Garden

Are you aware that there is a dedicated Memorial Garden at St. Mark’s? It is outside the upper terrace in front of the church, including the walled deck, with trees and plants and the Memorial Wall.

The posts of the wall hold memorial plaques, dedicated to deceased loved ones as a way to keep memories of them alive. An accompanying book of biographies with a page dedicated for each of those identified by plaques is inside the narthex near the Memorial Wall.

Each year we offer the ordering of the bronze plaques for deceased former pastors, members, constituents, and their immediate families. Plaques may be ordered with either one name (minimum donation $500) or two names (minimum donation $750), with the costs covering purchase of the plaques, their installation and dedication, and maintenance of the Memorial Garden.

If you would like to dedicate a plaque, please obtain a Memorial Garden Wall brochure from the church office. The brochure provides more information, and includes an order form. Orders and payments must be received by August 10 to be included in this year’s All Saints Sunday dedication in November. If you have further questions, please contact Ron or Donna Newby.

Office Volunteers Needed
