Happy Halloween! Hope your October has been a good one! St. Mark’s has been hopping: Blessing of the Animals, the preschool resale event, the start of the concert series, etc.
November promises to be busy, too. Looking ahead:
November 11: Free pancake breakfast and Alternative Christmas Fair November 20: Annual Thanksgiving Potluck at noon (The United Methodist Women will provide the turkey and mashed potatoes. Everything else is potluck!) followed by an afternoon at Belmont Park for youth. Email Kris Nieder at email@example.com for more information! December 15: The Living Nativity with a Delicious Dinner Afterwards
And of course, our beautiful Christmas Eve services on December 24.
CALLING ALL SHEPHERDS
Our Living Nativity will be indoors this year, but, as always, it will still be a very special night. We invite all children and willing adults to be part of the celebration and pageantry on December 15.
You don't have to attend a practice, costumes are provided, so just come, be a spectator or a player as we re-enact and celebrate the Christmas story. A catered fundraiser dinner will follow as well as the ever-popular hot chocolate and Christmas cookies. Don’t miss it!
Imagine One Night a Week… Where you simply enjoy your kids?
Families with children and teens are invited to our Family Advent Gatherings.
Dinner is taken care of. Activities and engaging conversation starters are provided. Grounded in the Christian faith, open to all. Refresh your spirit this holiday season with this four week series led by Rev. Lydia Sohn and Kris Nieder. WHEN: Tuesdays, 6-7:30 pm, Nov. 27- Dec. 18 WHERE: St. Mark's UMC Social Hall COST: $40 per family for the entire series
Cherub Choir Kids are currently working on their Christmas music. Practice is at 4:15 on Thursday afternoons. Snacks are included, practices often involve learning to use puppetry, and an awesome, end-of-the year caveat is director Frank’s Annual Pool Party and BBQ.
Sunday school is going well! Singing, Bible lessons, and related art activities and games all make Sunday school a fun and meaningful time.
