Easter time is almost here and there is a good reason to switch off, spend time with friends and family and reboot your energy to be ready for the rest of 2016. Because this year is shaping into an extraordinary year restoring and protecting Gold Coast's catchments and natural areas.

Before you switch off, grab your calendar to lock in some special events that are fast approaching.

And make your easter a special one with donating to the Save the Bilby Fund.

Save the Bilby Fund supports the three main aims of the National Recovery Plan for Bilbies:

  • To support research into the biology and ecology of the species to identify the reasons for population and distribution decline
  • To direct management efforts towards addressing threatening processes
  • To re-establish populations, based on the biological knowledge gained through the research.
To donate please visit - savethebilbyfund.com

There is also another incredible cause to support.

Jim Noort is the owner of a property in Guanaba and looking to have an ecotourism venture the 'Guanaba Experience' established in the near future on his land. Tony Dilion has been an avid supporter of the Guanaba Experience and Ngarang-Wal by assisting with an onsite Cultural Heritage survey, consultation and advice. However, Tony has tragically been recently debilitated by Motor Neurone Disease. Jim has decided to help raise awareness and plans to hike to a total vertical elevation of 10,000 metres to raise awareness for Motor Neurones Disease. He also plans to raise $10,000 for Motor Neurone Disease Association of Queensland Inc. Tony Dilion is an incredible, passionate local and we wish Jim's fundraising campaign and Tony the very best! To donate follow the link: https://give.everydayhero.com/au/guanaba-10-000

Have a safe and wonderful easter and catch up at one of the many events fast approaching,
