From the President

It's hard to believe that Fall is here (and that the weather seems to finally match as well). We want to thank everyone who came out to make the 11th Annual Progressive Yard Sale a successful event and also thank all who joined us for this year's Macklind Days Celebration. It was great to meet many neighbors and friends of Southampton all while enjoying the best our local restaurants and businesses have to offer.

Be sure to join us for our next Southampton Neighborhood Association General Meeting on Wednesday, November 8, 2017. The meeting will begin at 7:00 pm in the theater at Southampton Church (4716 Macklind Ave, St. Louis, MO 63109).

Best,

Adam Wright
Southampton Neighborhood Association President

Southampton Church Update

You may have noticed that the Southampton Church building has been on the real estate market for most of this year. The Southampton Neighborhood Association was informed that the property is now under contract and has been asked to support at redevelopment project that would convert the building into a mix of 1/2 bedroom apartments and loft condos. The neighborhood association has asked the developer to present his plans to the neighborhood and address the number one concern associated with any development on Macklind Ave. PARKING.

There will be a meeting tonight, October 16, 2017, at 7:00 pm in the former church sanctuary to discuss the plans and ask questions/make comments. The developer will be present.

The Southampton Neighborhood Association will keep neighbors informed throughout the process.

Steppin' Out in SOHA

It's time to step out in SOHA and meet some neighbors!

Join the Southampton Neighborhood Association (SNA) at Copper Pig on Monday, October 16 for trivia. Trivia starts at 8pm but we will be there by 7:30. Look for the Steppin' Out in SOHA sign when you arrive.

(If you can't make the entire meeting, please feel free to attend part of it.)

Meetings are held in the basement Theater of The Southampton Presbyterian Church (home to KTK Productions) located at the corner of Macklind and Nottingham.

** We will have your pre-ordered copies of the Southampton St Louis: An Unconventional History available for pick up. We should have some for sale as well if you are looking for holiday presents.
Just a few images from Macklind Days. What a great time and such a success! Thanks to all who came out.

A group of neighbors helped to replant the wedge with native perennials. These perennials will spend the winter establishing their roots so that they can sprout again next spring.

Thank you Brightside St. Louis for the plants.
