#MANA16: A Vision For the Future of Midwifery
More than 200 midwives (plus 36 student midwives!) came together in Atlanta to learn about the latest research, connect and network, and strategize on advocacy and increasing access to care. Sessions provided new models for collaboration, the latest research on midwifery care in the US and Canada, and inspiration from the amazing Robin Lim. Together we learned about advocacy strategies and updates from the states, indigenous communities, and countries in North and South America, as well as a new campaign to build respect by and for midwives around the globe. The MANA Board of Directors would like to thank members of the local committee, headed up by Debbie Pulley, for all of their tireless dedication to helping make the Atlanta Conference such a success: Sarahn Henderson, Whitney Whitmoore, Katherine Morrison, Debbie Schneider and Julie Bauer. And to everyone who attended MANA — watch your in-box, the post-conference survey is coming soon — we want to hear from YOU!
