Changes to National Governance

News from the Chief Commissioner

... There will be a transition to the updated framework over the next six months and roles will be advertised at different intervals...

Myer Christmas Pageant 2019 (Hobart)
We are now starting to plan for our Christmas Pageant entry for 2019.
The Girl Guides Tasmania entry will showcase the fantastic programs that we deliver, offering girls and young women value-based training in life skills, decision making, and leadership.
Find out more about the Hobart pageant here.

McIntyre's Day Out
On the 9th of September, McIntyre Region Girl Guides had a day out at Penny Royal Adventures rock climbing! They also had a Guide Biscuit stall just outside.
Northern Winter Sleepout

Some northern girls took part in the 2019 Winter Sleepout. They raised $860+ donations going towards YFCC’s work in helping to prevent young people from needing to resort to sleeping rough.

1 Devonport girl, 1 Wynyard girl, 9 Burnie girls, and 2 Leaders took part.

Dare to Rewear
Burnie Girl Guides recently participated in City Mission's Dare to Rewear Challenge. The initiative is aimed at encouraging people to ‘rewear’ something they have purchased from an op shop and make a gold coin donation to City Mission.
Jeedara's Jaunt to Hobart
Burnie Jeedara Girl Guides had their second annual jaunt to Hobart last month, to come and see the Hobart Gang Show and experience Hobart. They based themselves at Orana and from there had a list of experiences to cover, including Ice Skating (a group favourite), Salamanca Markets, an Escape Room at Evolo Room Escape, Mini Golf at Putters Adventure Golf and of course, Gang Show! All in one day! Sunday included a trip to MONA and lunch at the Hobart Cat Cafe, before heading back to Burnie. The girls had an amazing weekend and can't wait for the next one!
