Tasmania's newest Queen's Guide

Niamh Carr from Burnie Jeedara Girl Guides

Niamh Carr from Burnie has been busy lately, working on her Queen's Guide Award. Niamh has taught her unit many things and has organised lots of events - including a visit from the SES, participating in Survivor camps and making and collecting for "Dignity Drive" and "It's in The Bag".

Exciting News about the Girl Guide Biscuits campaign for 2020!


We are pleased to announce Girl Guides Australia have been working closely with new bakers, Snowy Mountains Cookies, on an exciting opportunity for next year. We will be offering a selection of three new flavours; Triple Chocolate, Anzac and GF Lemon, Lime and Coconut! 
All cookies are free from palm oil, artificial colours, flavours, preservatives and additives. AND all the packaging is recyclable!

Travel the Swiss Alps with Girl Guides!


If your idea of fun includes challenging yourself while experiencing the culture and beauty of the Swiss Alps, then this is the event for you!

Packed with opportunities to try new activities, learn about our global movement, and explore the outdoors, this event is open to Guides and Scouts of all ages. Come and spend an unforgettable week in the Swiss Alps!

This opportunity is open to girls aged 14-17

Travel to India with GGA


Want to find the goddess within you? Join Tasmania's own Jen Barron on a trip to Sangam in India and spend time exploring your physical, mental and emotional self.
This event will be held in September 2020 for Guiding members 16+ and applications close at the end of March 2020.

Committee Roles Open


The Outdoor and Program committees are looking for more members. Outdoor committe members work with campsites and environmental impacts and Program committe members help implement the AGP and run state events.

Thinking Day 2020 @ Orana


Celebrate Thinking Day 2020 with Girl Guides Tasmania's Hobart International Group on the 22nd Feb from 9am at Orana, Roches Beach. 
There will be activities and breakfast, followed by an Archives and Orana open day from 10am-3pm. There will also be a Thinking Day service at 11.00 am.

Anne Crummy, Chairman of the Southern International Committee, presented Anne Brown with her 35 year long service award at their meeting at the Kawasemi Japanese Tea House last month.

Online Charity Raffle
Play for Purpose is on again! Support Girl Guides Tasmania and go into the draw to win some amazing prizes. A minimum of $5 from every $10 ticket you buy contributes to the many programs Guides Tasmania runs each year.

Closing for the Holidays

Guide House now closed
Guide House has now closed for the holidays. We will reopen on Monday the 20th of January. As we are closed for most of January as well, there will be no January edition of GuideNet.
