Awards online

Despite not being able to have face-to-face Girl Guide meetings, sisters Megan and Teresa from Geeveston Hartz Girl Guides were presented with their Junior BP awards via Zoom. Well done girls!
They weren't the only ones to receive awards this month. Our wonderful volunteers and Leaders were notified of their annual awards. You can see the full list of adult award recipients here.

This ANZAC Day will surely be one to remember, but despite the difficulties, Girl Guides all over Tasmania came together at home and commemorated our soldiers.

Creative Programming

With units now meeting virtually and sending parcels in the mail, it's amazing to see what creative things units have been up to! The Huonville, Bridport and Exeter units have been busy with things like Easter cooking, ANZAC crafts and puzzles and keeping in contact via email stories.

Smithton Girl Guides

The Smithton Girl Guide mascot, Amity, has been having a wonderful holiday at Echidna's place (Junior Leader Francesca). The series of photos of Echidna and Amity helping out at home were sent out to the Smithton Girl Guides as part of their Guiding at home, along with activities that the girls could do at home.
Francesca and her mum also spent time over Easter painting parts of the Smithton hall– a massive effort and it looks great! The Unit is very grateful for their contributions and help.

WAGGGS Global Campfire

3am didn't stop our Tasmanian Girl Guides from joining in the fun of the WAGGGS global campfire! The WAGGGS online campfire was created to connect Girl Guides and Girl Scouts from all over the world in what can be an isolating time. You can find the full live stream of the campfire here
