The gathering was updated on the work of WAGGGS around the world and Jen Barron, World Centre manager for Kusafiri shared with us the positive impact of our African World Centre...

Guides @ Cuboree 2019
The 25th Scouts Tasmania Cuboree was held this month. There were 600 Guides, Cubs and leaders onsite at the Lea. The Girl Guides made 3 patrols, and had an amazing time on camp, with abseiling and billy cart racing as highlights.
Thank you to Her Excellency, The Honourable Professor Kate Warner AC, Governor of Tasmania for paying us a visit and joining in the fun!
Some of the girls are writing some reports on their time at Cuboree, so keep an eye out for those.
BridREport
What's going on in Bridport, by Rachael Knott

...The girls worked in areas that were both challenging and interesting to them, some choosing to create music, some art, and some dance to express themselves and their growth since becoming guides. Parents were invited to join us, and it was a resounding success...

Lones Girl Guides' camp
At the end of last month, the Lones Girl Guides (our Tasmanian unit on the internet) had their first camp as a new unit! The girls learnt lots of new skills, from building gadgets to making food to sleeping outdoors. It was also the first time that a lot of them had met, but the group became fast friends and welcomed each other with open arms.
Other activities for the weekend included a trip to the beach, a visit to the State Guiding Archives, lots of craft and the unit's first Promise Ceremony.
JotaJoti  - Esk District
Esk District Girl Guides had a great time on their JotaJoti sleepover.
The skyped with Western Australia Girl Guides, radioed into a Scout group in Canberra and chatted with other Guides and Scouts from all over the world!
Bridport on the Green
The Girl Guides at Bridport tried something a little different for their meeting last week. They met up at the local golf course and got some great tips from Mrs. Hall and Mrs. Lockhart at the Bridport Golf Club!

Congratulations to the Glenorchy Girl Guides who recently received the annual Nystar Community Grant. The money was used to upgrade the Glenorchy Guide hall kitchen. Read the full story on the Glenorchy Gazette website
