Young Conservatives for Energy Reform Newsletter
YC4ER had a very busy 2016 with many accomplishments around the country. What YC4ER has been able to accomplish since our founding has simply been amazing. From our events around the country, in almost every state, to bringing over 500 young leaders to DC this past fall, the topic of energy reform and ‘an all of the above’ energy policy is gaining more and more traction within the conservative movement. This is certainly an exciting time to be a conservative as we are leading the charge towards a sensible, cleaner and more secure energy policy, while embracing our God given resources and American ingenuity.
Young Conservatives for Energy Reform could not be in the position we are in today, without your support and the thousands of grassroots activists around the country. Thank you to everyone for all of your hard work and support, not only for YC4ER, but for embracing energy reform across the United States. We are truly blessed and incredibly grateful to have your support and the amazing help of all our supporters. Thank you.
Michele Combs is the founder and chair of Young Conservatives for Energy Reform.
YC4ER’s Northeast Chairman, Adi Sathi, Named Top Influential Republican
Adi Sathi has been honored with Newsmax’s coveted “30 Most Influential Republicans Under 30” honor, as the former Wildcat and University of Michigan-Ann Arbor graduate earned the 20th spot on the exclusive list.
Newsmax’s rankings take into account each candidate’s accomplishments relative to their age and seek to highlight emerging voices alongside established ones. The majority of the 30 young people honored come from political backgrounds – including a few who even hold elected office. They all possess a great influence in promoting Republican values that belies their ages.
Sathi works for Senator Hatch, who serves as both the chairman of the Senate Finance Committee and the Senate President Pro Tempore.
North Carolina YC4ER event in Raleigh, North Carolina
We finished the year with a great event with our North Carolina YC4ER chapter in Raleigh, North Carolina. Our new North Carolina YC4ER State Chairman, EJ Wilder, did a fantastic job with the event. General Richard Zilmer was the guest speaker and there were several state representatives at the event. EJ plans to do an event in Charlotte, North Carolina in February.
Lunch with Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy
Michele Combs had the opportunity to have lunch with House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy and Congressman Mark Sanford in her hometown of Charleston, South Carolina.
Majority Leader McCarthy was very enthusiastic about our group and efforts. He said he looked forward to working with us in the House of Representatives.
YC4ER were Special Guests at EPA Confirmation Hearing
Michele Combs was a special guest of Senator Inhofe (R-OK) at the confirmation hearing of EPA commissioner Scott Pruitt. Ms. Combs wrote a letter to each member of the Senate committee about the effects of mercury on pregnant women and their unborn babies. No members of the public were allowed in the hearing, so she was very honored to be able to attend on behalf of YC4ER.
