Coming soon in 2018: The GUAC Network

Working with our designer and tech lead Allen Tullett, GUAC are building a new service – The GUAC Network, to help bring members closer to GUAC’s services and to other members.

The new service, which will launch in Spring 2018, will provide a secure database of employment and housing professionals, searchable by their areas, roles and expertise. You’ll also be able to use the Network to hunt out organisations and individuals based on goals, strategies or hot topics.

GUAC Members will also be able to use the Network to share expertise with their sector colleagues – through the secure online chat room and forum facilities.  Once the service is live, you'll be able to securely login, add info, search info and make new connections through this exclusive Network.

We are in test phase right now, and in the next few weeks all GUAC Members will be contacted to gather your baseline information, and to begin your Network listing.   Please look out for us!

GUAC webinar series – watch the latest episode online

Make sure you don’t miss out on GUAC’s latest webinar episode: “Progress and Change’ – for our clients, and in our business”, which Members can watch for free in the secure, members-only area of the website.

Our latest webinar explored the use of the SF – ‘solution focused’ approaches with customers, in challenging times.

The approach was developed in America in the 1980s by Steve de Shazer and Insoo Kim Berg. After spending many years studying ‘problem behaviour’ amongst clients and trying to change it, they switched to studying ‘solution behaviour’ and how to promote it.

Expert practitioner, Emily Morris, provides an overview of the philosophy, approach and context of solution focused practice in housing and employment services, whilst Sovereign’s Heidi Leyshon and Gez Bentley talk through the practical application in a housing association; why they chose it, what they wanted to achieve and how this is working every day.

Log in to watch the webinar here, and contact Allen Tullet via allen.tullett@gmail.com if you experience any problems logging in.
