"Americans will spend $2.3 billion on Thanksgiving dinner that includes 51 million turkeys."

- United States Department of Agriculture

Dear Friends of the Maine Food Strategy,

Thanks to our diligent readership for pointing out our typo.

In fact, Americans will consume 51 million (not billon) turkeys this Thanksgiving as reported in yesterday's email.

That number is still impressive. Imagine how great it would be if all those turkeys were being raised and sold by Maine farmers.

Please accept our apologies and we wish you a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Best regards,

Barbi Ives & Tanya Swain
