The "Good Things in Maine" Campaign

Each month the Maine Food Strategy will be highlighting a program, organization, or event that represents the positive changes and good work happening throughout the state affecting Maine's food system.

This month, we are looking at Paradise Found: The Search for Maine's Top Ten Environmental Visionaries. This is an initiative to engage middle and high school students in describing their vision for Maine's future. The program encourages students to pick from seven prompts, and create a 1-2 minute video answering that prompt about a sustainable future for Maine. Among the prompts are questions about land use, water access, and supporting local farmers. Students are encouraged to be creative and thoughtful, while expanding their reasoning skills and learning about issues important to them and the future of their state.

The videos will be shown to state legislators, and the winner receives a $100 cash prize. For more information, visit
