Dear Friends of the Maine Food Strategy,

 
To celebrate the people who bring the bounty of Maine-produced food and seafood to our plates, w
e are pleased to launch a social media campaign, A Day in Your Life. We need your help to show the diversity of people engaged in and integral to Maine's food economy. 

Send us your photos from the sea, the field, the barn, the boardroom, the kitchen. Selfies are encouraged!

News from the Steering Committee

Our Steering Committee continued to work throughout the busy summer months, gathering in Bangor in July and Augusta in August. Members are refining goals and indicators for a statewide strategy to support food systems in Maine. The committee has been looking at a set of broad goals reinforced by "key leverage indicators." 

What is an indicator?
Simply defined, key leverage indicators are those conditions that, if changed or created, appear to have the greatest impact on other areas that support a goal.
 
Over the next several months, the committee will be sharing its ideas and looking for honest feedback from all interested parties. Maine Food Strategy staff has been invited by several organizations to present at meetings this fall! At these and other events -- to be announced -- we'll solicit feedback on the Steering Committee's draft goals and indicators, asking your input on where the Strategy is heading.
