Powell's Bookstores, Chicago has been recycling ideas in Chicago to the world for the over 40 years. We have two independent retail stores, one in Hyde Park and one in University Village, each with well over a quarter million quality used, rare, and discounted books. We primarily specialize in academic and scholarly books, such as ancient and medieval history, philosophy, and theology, but also have extensive general interest sections, including fiction, children’s books, poetry, art, architecture, design and photography, and cookbooks and crafts.
