Thank you for your support! We've been working hard to bring literary and community events into our stores, take our books out to meet the world at book fairs and other off-site happenings, and generally spread witty erudition across the internet, and we want to share it with you because we like you. And we'll still like you if you unsubscribe!

Powell's Bookstores, Chicago has been recycling ideas in Chicago to the world for the over 40 years. We have three independent retail stores, in Hyde Park, University Village and Lakeview, each with well over a quarter million quality used, rare, and discounted books. We primarily specialize in academic and scholarly books, such as ancient and medieval history, philosophy, and theology, but also have extensive general interest sections, including fiction, children’s, poetry, performing arts, art and photography, and cookbooks.
