Can I get a whoop whoop!

For those of you who couldn’t make it to our truly inspiring and sensational opening event Blak Wave last night…never fear…there’s plenty more greatness where that came from! There’s a whole series of Blak Wave events to get along to, as well as our supremely gorgeous Blak Wave publication which you can purchase right here.

Alright, so - strap yourselves in. Next Thursday 24 April sees the commencement of our performance program, and we’re kicking off in true NW style with a super fabulous participatory-workout-dance party Deep Soulful Sweats: PEAKS OF PHANTASM. A little bit yoga, a little bit Jane Fonda, a little bit interpretive dance, this unmissable event is brought to you by the cosmic and oh so cool Sarah Aiken and Rebecca Jensen.

Let yourself sweat, get into that deep house. Exorcise through exercise.

Tickets are selling fast, so book now to avoid disappointment! Absolutely no yoga or dance experience is necessary, all you need to bring is a willingness to have fun, get a bit dancey and perhaps wear a shiny outfit.

With so many other incredible shows, exhibitions, talks and special events launching within the next fortnight, it would take me ages to mention them all. So I’ll simply leave you with a quick #nwf14 checklist

  1. Go to the Next Wave Website or grab a Next Wave Magazine from any reputable local outlet
  2. Download the Next Wave Festival App
  3. Map your own festival experiences with ‘Free Rides’ or let us suggest some for you
  4. Have a ripping good time!

Hope to see you round at the Festival, it wouldn’t be the same without you!

Kristy Ayre
Associate Producer
