LUCID Presented to The Duke of York
LUCID had the wonderful opportunity to present to the Former Governor General, David Johnston together with His Royal Highness Prince Andrew, The Duke of York in Toronto at the DMZ Sandbox!
LUCID ONtrepreneur Program Winner
Congratulations to Transmedia Zone team, LUCID on being awarded an investment of $50,000 from the Ontario Neurotech ONtrepreneurs program. This is Canada's single largest award for early-stage brain technology entrepreneurs! Read more here.
Contraverse EU Delegation
We hosted a delegation from the European Union and showed off one of our fabulous teams, Contraverse VR! Journalists, Canadian Trade Commissioners and Government Representatives from Italy and the UK were given the opportunity to experience Contraverse's innovative VR solutions for festivals, events and brand launches. 

The GIST Telus Pitch
The GIST has made it into the Top 100 of the Telus PITCH - the largest small business pitch competition in Canada! In order for them to make it into the top 10 and have a chance to pitch to win a portion of $150k in prizes, they need your vote! This award will help The GIST continue to support their community in trying to level the playing field in the sports industry. Vote for them here

Leaders' Lunch

One of the great features of working out of the Transmedia Zone is that teams are given the opportunity to connect with our Tech Advisors to develop new innovations in storytelling. At our Leaders' Lunch we gathered and took the time to appreciate our wonderful Tech Advisors and team leaders over a sandwich-style lunch!

Story Session
The Transmedia Zone held our first Story Session as a new initiative to encourage collaborative problem solving.
User Testing Session

It was great to see so many teams out for our first user testing session! 

Our Community

Gladiotron led an intriguing workshop on creating 2D animations and illustrations in a 3D environment using Blender.

Earbank led an interactive Audio Storytelling battle where attendees competed to create micro-radio documentaries.

Origins led a very informative workshop on social media tracking and engagement.

In the Spotlight

Transmedia Zone Advisor Stefan Grambart has won a Rockie Award at the Banff World Media Festival for his integrated game designed for the "Damaged" web-series from Yellow Bear Studios! His project won for best interactive content, for its immersive "alternate reality" game-play and its deep narrative connection to the linear story of the web-series. Check out his project here.
