ATAC Christmas Celebrations

Our annual year end gala was a great success at The Schreierstoren. Unfortunately we have only one photo from the evening, Jos with his pie. Everyone had a good time and it wrapped up a successful 2016

ATAC 2016 Awards

Each year we recognise outstanding contributions and performances by our members at the annual Christmas Party and awards evening, and below are our 2015 awards winners. Congratulations to all and keep up the great contributions and performances.

Club Member of the Year: Jos van Losser

Jos was busy this year. He set up and ran the inaugural ATAC RBR series.  He then set up the ATAC pool sessions, which have proven to be very popular.

He remained a positive influence throughout the club in a large number of events despite a horrible season of injuries. He even drove athletes to RBR events when he wasn't taking part and he stood in the pouring rain to cheer the team on.

Well done Jos, and a true credit to the club.

Other Nominations:
Luis Monteiro

Most Social Member: Anthony Panontin

Anthony is always welcoming the new members by chatting to them during rides and runs. He is the friendly face of ATAC, and is widely known in both the Cycling and Triathlon circles of Amsterdam, as was noted at a cyclocross race where he seemed to know half the racers!

Other Nominations:
Terence McCartan

Best Female Athlete: Soline Wilmart

Despite a terrible beginning to the season where Soline fractured her elbow during a ride early in the year, Soline competed in multi races. Three half distance triathlons and also participated with the tri-team in a number of competitions and then Soline cycled Mont Ventoux.

Other Nominations:
Lorna Wilson
Paola Lorio

Best Male Triathlete: Howard Liem

For having done pretty much everything this year. From a full IM in Maastricht, to having stepped in for the team races when we needed him. He proved to be an all round highly competitive triathlete.

Other Nominations:
Vernon Steenkamp
Roberto Torrini

Best Male Cyclist: Sander Boerkamp

Sander had an outstanding year on the bike this year, coming 8th (out of 5,000) in the Grand Fondo New York, and 9th in the Grand Fondo Les Trois Ballons. He was also the first Dutch finished in the Grand Fondo Le Trois Ballons.

Other Nominations:
Tony Stoffels

What is a Triathlon Club without a regular pool session? That is why we created the regular pool time for our members. No more crowded lanes during public opening times and a chance to improve your technique, speed and stamina with the help of a trainer and a training schedule. And most importantly, with like-minded ATAC members! The sessions are open to all levels of swimmers.

SportPlaza Mercator on Tuesdays at 22:00.
See here for more details, or please contact Jos van Losser at

When: Saturday, April 8 to Monday, April 17, 2017, 5:00 PM

We are going back to Italy to the “Hotel Belvedere”, in Riccione in Italy.

We enjoyed last year and we are going back.  Hotel Belvedere is one of the best cycling holiday hotels in the world, and is widely written up and reviewed, and really wants non-cycling partners to join their cycling partners on holiday.  3 to 5 group rides a day going out catering for ALL abilities.  This is an all inclusive trip. You get yourself to the hotel, then it is all included, and the food is amazing. Just ask those who went last year.
