An update from Bellway...
"Dear residents,
The project team continue to work hard to bring forward this important development project and wanted to share some important updates about the site.
Firstly, we have been working with local historians and other experts to uncover the history of the site. Through this work, we have decided to name the development Springstead Village. One of the interesting revelations which was highlighted through this process was that the area was formerly home to a water spring and the area of Cherry Hinton was responsible for a significant proportion of the water supply to Cambridge.
We are pleased to be celebrating this local connection through this fitting name for the development site. The team are looking forward to continuing work on the Springstead Village development and would like to thank everyone who has inputted into the plans so far.
Over the coming weeks, we will be undertaking some important site works including:
• The Public Right of Way has been reopened through the development, the sections of the site opened to the public for dog walking/exercising will also remain open until works are required to be undertaken within that area
• Cadent continue their works to divert the gas main on the site and are expected to complete by the end of April
• Archaeology works are continuing on site
• Works have started on the construction of the show homes and sales arena
• Some vegetation/tree clearance will be undertaken on the site in advance of bird nesting season to allow works to proceed during the year
Do feel free to get in touch with any questions for the project team.
Kind regards,
The Springstead Village communications team.  Link to website here
