See you on Sunday!

Last Sunday we celebrated our first Sunday worship led by our new minister Joan Kessler. In her reflection "Here to There" she described her path from "there to here: as well as wondered about our (the congregation's) path from "there to here" and how quite often these kind of paths lead through wilderness and comes with many uncertainties and questions.

"...You are wondering what to expect from me…will she turn the tables on everything we’ve worked so hard for…will she pick hymns I don’t like…will she wear sensible shoes and say sensible things…will she be there when I really need a minister.  You folks may have lots of questions and adjustments to make with my arrival.  We are both in a time of Wilderness…but we are here together.  We are going to keep putting one foot in front of the other with patience and perseverance and a coming together….and we will get to where we are going…from Here to There...."

DOING – NON DOING – UNDOING
~ by William Livingstone Wallace

In the doing is the undoing

If there is no time for silence,

for reflection,

for nurturing the spirit,

for walking by the still waters of inner paradise.

But equally in the non doing

There can also be the undoing

If there is no dynamic interaction

between action and reflection,

no grieving for the world,

but instead only escape

into personal bliss;

For we are incomplete if our meditation

Does not lead us into a baptism

Of sacramental, sacrificial, sensuous

Immersion into the life

Of the world.

If this does not happen

We might just as well

Not be here at all

But instead

Chant ourselves

Into some other worldly

Ether!

Help take care of our wildlife this winter. Join us for our annual Animal Christmas family activity night on Saturday, January 18 from 5 pm to 7 pm. There will be several bird feeder styles for you and your family to build. Take them home or leave them for our children's garden. We plan to visit them regularly and journal about what we see.
This is an attendee supported event. We suggest $5 per person to cover supplies and food. We'll be providing pizza but you can help by bringing a fruit, veggie tray, or dessert. Thanks so much for your support!
Let us know if you're coming.

Hope to see you.
