Happy Season of Easter to you all. I hope this note finds you well this week. In spite of COVID-19, we continue to gather and be a supportive community in new ways.
At our Council meeting this past week, members felt it important to provide you all with a financial update after one month of church closure. Our revenue for March was $12,774.50, which included Thrift Store support and rental income (approx. $5,700.00). Our expenses for the month which included salaries, mortgage payment, insurance and utilities were $20,906.04. Hence, our shortfall for March is $8,131.54. We are fortunate to have reserve funds to cover the difference. We are also awaiting information on applying for the 75% wage subsidy offered by the Federal Government. Maintaining current staffing levels was expressed as the priority in this time of closure and will be continually monitored. We do not know how long we will be refraining from gathering in the church building. I see this as a time of living "in between", of wanting to do things as we've done but being responsible to our current financial position. We will keep you updated as we continue to gather virtually over the coming weeks. Your contribution of time, talent, and treasure are love made visible. Thank you!
May the hope of Easter continue to be close to you and certain, just as the rising of the sun. Until next time....
Peace be with you all,
