See you on Sunday!
Last Sunday was Communion Sunday. We heard the scripture of Matthew 5:1-12.
In her reflection Joan started that "...sometimes we need to go against the current of popular opinion and do what needs to be done...  to make change happen in the world...
... what is the source of blessing in this place?  What is it that gets us out of bed on a Sunday morning and brings to this gathering of diverse beliefs and opinions?  'Think Different' is the title of this reflection…the think different Apple commercial reminds us that people can do remarkable things that make this world a better place but often times at a considerable cost.  Maybe a better title for this sermon would be 'Live Different'… live a blessed life even in the messy bits. Take some time this week to think about who and what you value…"

Read Joan's reflection "Think different."
Michelle and the children discussed Communion: what it is and the importance of knowing why we partake in certain rituals while working on a collage craft.

“Climate Change and us: Creating a Better Future”
A guided discussion series on Climate Change
Saturday mornings, February 22 – March 28
9:30 – 11:00 a.m.
at Winfield United Church

The series is sponsored by the Okanagan Chapter of Citizens’ Climate Lobby, a non-profit, nonpartisan, grassroots advocacy organization focused on national policies to address climate change. The facilitated circle is meant to be collaborative. There is no expert, and everyone shares their ideas and insights while respecting one another’s views. It is also meant to be a safe, nonjudgmental place to express diverse opinions and perspectives. This is not the place for individual rants and specific agendas. We are not seeking to build consensus, but instead are exploring possibilities, with a focus on positive change. The three core elements are: “collaborative discovery, personal reflection, and opportunity for action.”
The circle process allows everyone to have a voice. No one should dominate the discussion.
For further information, or to register for the course and receive the series outline
please send an email to or talk to Donna, Bob, or Len.
A sign-up sheet will be provided on Sunday on the bulletin board.
