December is a month to celebrate the season and our team at the Kitchen has planned an entire series of fun and social events for our Participants that help build bring us together to have some fun. Whether it's baking and a cookie exchanges, making custom gifts, writing cards or crafting a one-of-a-kind wreath for you and your friends, all of these holiday traditions are offered at the Kitchen for registered Participants.

Cheap, Nutritious & Super Delicious
Gluten-Free Meals

Making easy, cheap, versatile and super delicious gluten-free meals sounds impossible, right? Look no further! Learn how a few basic staples can be transformed into whatever you feel like eating, and with the biggest nutritional value you can get with a limited budget.

Give the Gift of Homemade preserves                  
Dec 6th 10:30am-12:30pm

Share in the experience of making a selection of homemade preserves and decorate your jars with ribbons and holiday paper. Fantastic gifts! Preserves need to sit undisturbed for 24hrs, so the ability to pick up at a later date is required.
We will be cranberry relish and red pepper jelly!

 



Gluten-Free
Christmas Cookie Bake & Swap                              
December 8th 2:30pm-5:30pm

Learn to make 3 different gluten free holiday cookies during session from Char Holcroft, and then swap with members from the community! You will leave with a tin filled with a variety of treats, recipes and more.

Anyone interested in joining the cookie swap is invited to bring a batch of their homemade cookies to the Kitchen at 4:30pm and share in the celebrations. Soup, tea, and hot chocolate on offer! If you plan to attend, please let us know.

Baking & Craft Night for Families                       
December 13th 3:30pm-6:30pm


Our Pastry Chef, Taryn, and Child Care Maestro, Amira, are teaming up for a fun and festive afternoon for caregivers and their children. You will be making and decorating holiday cookies to take home, making seasonal crafts and enjoying a simple dinner together.  It will be delicious!

Make a Living Wreath                                                                            
December 14th &15th 11am-1pm

You can make a beautiful holiday wreath using garden trimmings like cedar bows, holly, snowberry and salal. They are easy to learn to make and you can get creative with decorations and combinations of branches. Come learn from our Gardeners, enjoy a hot apple cider and make a wreath to take home for your front door or make two and give one as a gift!  Both dates are the same.
