Failure follows fear and spreads like wildfire...

...whilst producing emotional floods. It destroys loyalty that's been built up over years. Nothing invades and destroys an organization’s growth quicker than fear.

Fearful leaders have a negative effect. They create a climate of blame, rejection, resentment and resistance to change - often unwittingly. It manifests in lack of growth, high turnover and poor product pipelines. Fear travels from the inner core of the leader to the hearts and minds of the loyal team. From there it corrupts the business processes.

This is far beyond letting your truthful concern energize people. If you're a leader who hears “We need a better vision” or “There’s not enough trust” or “We are too silo’d”, then you are fortunate. You are seeing the reflection of your own inner fear in the inner core of others. Managing your own inner core first, not theirs, is the answer.

Retaining the brightest and best in today’s workplace needs leadership which is about far more than systems and values.

People need confidence and a strong sense of meaning. They need leaders who understand the power of their inner core to inspire others.
