What is a flash drought?

Many people are familiar with flash floods, but there are also flash droughts. These sudden, extreme dry spells are becoming a big concern for farmers and water utilities.

Low rainfall propels food insecurity

As climate change affects weather conditions, new research found that a lack of rainfall was associated with the highest risk of food insecurity in Tanzania.
