Vice Paton: Mr Gary Burns BM APM, Commissioner of South Australian Police

Home Pool Inspections

We are now able to offer home pool inspections in South Australia! Our pool inspectors will ensure compliance with the Australian Standards for Pool Safety – safety barriers and the location of safety barriers. We are excited about home pool owners taking responsibility for the safety of their children to help eliminate child drowning. For more information or to book a home pool inspection visit http://www.royallifesavingsa.com.au/poolaudits/  or email poolinspections@royallifesavingsa.com.au

Holiday Swimming 2014/2015
During the summer approx. 7000 children ranging from 6 months to 18 years participated in our Swim & Survive program across the state.

Congratulations to all the participants who took part and completed our higher awards, these students will hopefully become our future Instructors continuing the importance of teaching our children to swim and survive.

Lifeguarding Australia

With Summer upon us, 12 of our lifeguards were out to keep everyone safe on the 315 metre pop up inflatable slip’n’slide ride which was held in the Adelaide CBD during January. The slide saw thousands of keen participants enjoying the slide down Bartels Road, not every day you can slide your way through our city

Training

We are currently in the process of extending our training scope to include all of the First Aid units and we will be able to offer them to students over the coming month. Also included in the scope extension will be Certificate III in Aquatics.
If you would like some more information about opportunities to deliver training and assessment with Royal Life Saving please contact Martin Brakman – Project Officer martin.brakman@royallifesavingsa.com.au

School Swimming

As the children head back to school many schools are participating in our swim & Survive program as their curriculum swimming program. The School Swimming Program will develop swimming, water safety, survival and rescue skills to many students throughout the year.

Inland Waterways

The South Australia river system is one of the top 10 black spot locations in Australia for drowning deaths and contributes to the recent finding that over 25% of drowning deaths occur in rivers, creeks and streams.
In partnership with state and territory organisations RLSS-SA will study key areas including, The Murray lands and Riverland waterways for initiatives and action plans to identify and implement strategies for prevention's in our black spot areas.
