Marsden Books Newsletter October 2015

Spring is here and Christmas is looming, both of which will lift the spirits after a long cold  winter.

New Zealand Bookshop Day, on October 31st, is a nationwide celebration of the importance of local bookshops and all that they bring to a local community.

We have a few events planned for the next month which we hope you will be able to attend, as it is great to have the opportunity to host authors.

Beatrice has been busy collating a special collection of Classical CDs for you to choose from and is also happy to take special orders. There will also be our usual gorgeous selection of Christmas CDs.

For children we also have a wonderful collection of Advent calendars and Christmas books, for all ages.

Thursday October 29th, 6pm:  An Evening with Adrienne Jensen, author of a new book called Migrant Journeys. She will be talking about refugees and resettlement in New Zealand, a very relevant subject for all of us today. Please RSVP by Oct 28th. A flier has already been sent to all those on our email database.

Saturday October 31st is New Zealand Bookshop Day, a chance to celebrate the great local bookshops in New Zealand. Marsden Books will have giveaways for all customers who grace us with their presence on the day. Please come in and sign our special book telling us what it means to you to have a local bookshop.

Wednesday November 18th, 6pm: An Evening with Steve Braunias. His new book Scene of the Crime showcases some of our more bizarre New Zealand crimes. Please RSVP by November 16th.
