Powering Potential Completes SPARC+ Lab Upgrade at Sazira

The new SPARC+ Lab at Sazira Secondary School
This fall, Powering Potential expanded the SPARC lab at the Sazira Secondary School to a SPARC+ lab with 20 computers!  The school also has an expanded solar energy system.

This project has been funded by a $13,000 grant from Collegiate Church Corporation and Charlie Wood, a technology entrepreneur. We thank them for helping us provide additional resources to the Sazira Secondary School! Read more about this exciting development on the Powering Potential blog!

Powering Potential Receives a Grant from MoneyGram Foundation

The MoneyGram Foundation recently awarded Powering Potential with a grant to implement our program at other schools in the Bunda District of Tanzania. This grant will go towards upgrading our SPARC labs in the Kabasa and Mekomiriro Schools to SPARC+ labs. This means three schools in the Bunda District will be able to receive technology education!

We thank them sincerely for their generosity and support of our cause!

PEF Attends the Energy Globe Word Awards in Finland

The 2019 Energy Globe World Award Winners & Finalists

In our last newsletter, we announced that our sister organization, The Potential Enhancement Foundation (PEF), was nominated in the Youth Catagory for an Energy Globe World Award by the Energy Globe Foundation. The Executive Director of PEF, Eng. Albin Mathias, attended the awards ceremony, which took place during the Energy Globe Days in Espoo, Finland on November 12-13, 2019.

The Energy Globe Days consist of two days of conference talks featuring representatives from each nominated project along with an impressive array of prominent international politicians and environmentalists. PEF's Educating through Technology (Raspberry PI Computer Labs) project was the subject of Eng. Mathias' speech, ending with a heartfelt message for the global community to make youth education a vital priority.

We send our congratulations to the PEF team in recognition of their incredible work on behalf of students in Tanzania!
