2CV Racing Newsletter February 2019

First 2CV Race Just 7 Weeks Away
The Club is delighted to confirm that all the dates and the prices for racing in 2019 are now agreed and the first race of the season is less than 7 weeks away. 

The regulations for 2019 are also published this week. Entries can be made via the club's website. Early bird discounted prices only apply to 24 Hour race entries where they are made by March 1 and for the 10 sprint rounds when made by March 15.

This amazing poster has been created by racing artist Joel Clark and published by the Club to promote the 2019 24 Hour 2CV race.

2018 Champion Pete Sparrow
Pete was presented with the 2018 Championship trophy at the BARC Awards Dinner on April 9. This is his 7th Championship win, and he was driving a 2CV Team LION car. He’ll be out again on the Championship trail in 2019

2019 2CV Championship - 11 rounds at five circuits

First 10 of the 11 rounds are 20 minute races:

March 30/31 Silverstone Club: Round 1, Round 2
April 22  Cadwell Park: Round 3, Round 4, Round 5
May 27 Mallory Park: Round 6, Round 7, Round 8
June 22 - 23 Brands Hatch Indy: Round 9, Round 10

August 16 -18 Snetterton: Final Round

2019 2CV Racing – need a seat or a car, or a driver?
Alec Graham is the one to talk to if you are looking for a race driver, a car, or are looking for drivers for a race car you have for any of the races in 2019. He’s got all the contacts. He can also help if you have a car to sell.  
2019 2CV Technical and sporting rules update
At the Club AGM in November, the members agreed a number of proposals to the technical and sporting rules. A modest increase in the car+driver weight was one of the changes.  Visit the club website and find the AGM minutes on the Forum for more info.
February 22 – 24:  Race Retro  Stoneleigh Park near Warwick 
The Club will have booth #328 in Hall 2. There will be two racing 2CV’s on display. Come along and help if you can. Contact Chris Yates to agree a slot on the staffing rota. Advance tickets at Race Retro.

May 25 & 26: Mallory Park  Special Celebration of 30 Years of Citroen 2CV Racing
Yes, the Club has been organising races for the iconic 2CV for 30 years without a break.

On the Sunday evening from 7pm there will be a big party in the paddock. Everyone associated with or interested in 2CV racing and Citroens in general is welcome, with more details in our next newsletter. Entry to the track from 4pm on the Sunday, all the racing is on the Bank Holiday Monday.

On the Monday, working with our friends at BARC and the Mallory Park team there will be a race meeting with these 20 minute races for 2CV’s.

A great late May Bank Holiday weekend event - mark it in your diary now.
August 16-18:  Liqui Moly 2CV  24 Hour Race, Snetterton
2019 has the 29th running of our unique 24 hour race. It is also the year to celebrate 100 years of the Citroen company, 70 years of the Citroen 2CV and 30 years of racing them by members of the Classic 2CV Racing Club. It is by far the longest running 24 Hour motor race in the UK.

Early-bird entries are open, until March 1. Download the 24 hour race entry form at:

October 26-27: Spa 2CV 24 Hour 2019, organised by 2CVRT
UK Club class 602’s cars are welcome to race alongside the local Classique Class, UK Hybrids and the other classes. Mainly local C1’s, with some UK C1’s invited.
