Why Radon Testing

What is Radon?

Is Your Family at Risk?Radon is a radioactive gas that is colorless, odorless, and tasteless. It comes from the natural breakdown of uranium in soil, rock and water and gets into the air you breathe.  Radon typically moves up through the ground to the air and into your home through cracks and holes in the foundation or through well water.  The home then traps radon inside.

Why test for Radon?

Unless you test for Radon there is no way of telling how much is present.  The Surgeon General has warned that radon is the second leading cause of lung cancer in the U. S.  Radon gas decays into radioactive particles that can get trapped in your lungs when you breathe.
