Another Easy DIY Repair
Thanks to one of our repeat inspection clients
In response to last month's article on Simple Things Homeowners Overlook, she sent us this tidbit to share:
The definition of a "4 Way Switch" is that it powers 3 light switches. The definition of a "3 Way Switch" is that it powers 2 light switches. All the lights in our front hallway went off. We thought that 2 switches in that hallway controlled them all. We called an electrician.
There were actually THREE switches and the third one had turned off the other two. Once the electrician threw that switch (and tightened ONE screw on it), all the lights worked again. $85 to find out that we could have done it ourselves!
