From Our President!

Dear Members,

Hoping all is well with our members. We had a very successful evening last week featuring the Soul Cruisers band.  Everyone enjoyed dancing to the music of the 50’s and 60’s.

The Executive Board is very pleased to announce that we are in the process of having our main building kitchen renovated.  Looking forward to having our kitchen updated and more efficient. We were able to bring about this large accomplishment due to a very successful 2022.

Thank you to all our members, both club and soccer, who are always ready and available to make our large events possible.

The Executive Board still has some vacancies we are anxious to fill.  Please see me or a Board member if you are interested.

IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM THE EXECUTIVE

BOARD REGARDING MEMBERSHIP CARDS

The Executive Board of the German American Society kindly asks that all of our members make an effort to have their membership cards on them at all times when visiting the club for member or public events. If asked by an employee or staff member to show your membership card, we request that you politely do so. This is not meant as a slight toward you personally, we are a large club with a rotating staff and everyone does not always know each other.
It is very important for members to have their membership card on their person as it is required by law and keeps us in compliance with the New Jersey Alcoholic Beverage Commission. Not doing so risks penalties for our club and possible loss of our liquor license.

If you do not have your membership card or need a replacement, contact our Membership Secretary at

February 2023 UPDATE

Please Welcome the GAK Executive Board for 2023 is as follows:

Sports Chairman/President: Paul Bette
Vice President: Dave Papp

Financial Secretary and Treasurer: Jason Wittkamp
Registrar: Jerry Siracusa
Technology Director: Zeke Castro
Directors (5) : James Dean, Jenn Cordone, Gary Britton (New Director) , Frank Walter, Jason Wiener. Gary is a former GAK player and coach.

~Teams are active playing indoors. The GAK has rented the Lifecenter Indoor field for weekends during March so that we are able to train indoors in case our fields are unplayable. The first scheduled game of the spring season is Friday March 31st when the Men's team kicks off its second half of the GSSL season.

~The GAK Dinner /Dance and HOF Inductions will take place on Saturday March 4th at 6:00 PM. Tickets are $40 each and can be purchased by calling (609) 284 - 5059 or sending email to fcgak1992@gmail.com. GAK Families should purchase tickets through their individual team coaches and managers.
HOF list includes Joe Schoen, David Leckie and Tony Scharko.

~GAK Night at the Union will take place on Saturday June 24th when the Union play Inter Miami. Tickets are $33 each and we have sold 55 of the 150 tickets we have purchased thus far. Limited tickets will be sold so please order them soon if you want to participate in the tailgate and the game following.

~Our VfB Stuttgart partnership is in full swing again with VfB Stuttgart trainers training our GAK coaches and players via Zoom meetings every weekend.

~The GAK/Schaechter Sports Soccer Camp will run from July 10 - 14th. Registration details will be out the first week of February.

~We are starting a Junior Kickers program this year for kids 5 - 7 years old. It is being organized by Marisa Cohen and Nicole Russomanno.

~We have 2016 Boys and Girls teams forming for the fall of 2023.

~We are currently looking into a GAK Golf Outing this Spring - (more info to come).
