First Friday Downtown

Friday, Jun 3, 5-7pm
First Friday is back through the summer! Downtown businesses stay open late until 7pm along with non-profits with sidewalk displays. Participating shops will offer something festive to the shopping experience, such as: wine, snacks, art, music, a new product or collaboration. Come down and enjoy your downtown and do some local shopping in a festive atmosphere during the evening hours.

Hamilton Players Present: Honky Tonk Angels

When three gutsy gals from different backgrounds take charge of their lives, they decide to follow their honky tonk dreams to the city of Nashville. Combining 30 classic country tunes (including “Stand By Your Man,” “9 to 5,” “Harper Valley PTA,” and more!) The Honky Tonk Angels is a hilarious, foot-stomping good time!

42nd Annual Bitter Root Day Festival

Saturday, Jun 11, 9am-1pm
Bitter Root Day is a festival centered our state flower, the bitterroot. The Salish revere the flower and its appearance in spring is honored through celebration and feasts. The Bitterroot Valley is the homeland of the Salish Tribe who currently reside on the Flathead Reservation in Western Montana. The Annual Bitter Root Day Festival includes authentic Salish drumming, dancing, and singing, free activities for children of all ages, arts, crafts, food and produce from local and out of area vendors, and a special exhibit.

The HDA Monthly Membership meeting is on the second Thursday of each month. Hamilton businesses, non-profit organizations, public service/clubs, and individuals who have an interest in our downtown are welcome to attend.

Our next Quarterly Speaker Social is with guest Tash Wisemiller, Community & Economic Vitality Program Manager; Montana Main Street Program Coordinator at Montana Department of Commerce. The evening will start at the Ravalli County Museum and will include a tour of downtown.

Summer Camps

B.E.A.R. has a variety of day trips throughout the summer for grades 6th-8th. This June 28th & 30th is the Ropes Challenge Course at Hieronymus Park & Trapper Creek Job Corps. The Peer Mentor Leadership Training Camp is June 20-22 this year for grades 9th-11th.

Unity Dance & Drum Workshop for Kids

Tuesday, Jun 14, 2pm
Tarn Ream and Michael Meyer, founders of Unity Dance and Drum, will present an interactive African music and dance workshop. Come learn about some of the cultural music and dance traditions, participate in a call-and-response song, and get moving with a dance of celebration then we'll break out instruments of all kinds for everyone to try! This program welcomes kids of all ages and abilities.

Free Outdoor Summer Concert Series

Sapphire Lutheran Homes is bringing in four tribute bands this summer. The Friday concerts are free and start at 7pm on the lawn. Bring your own lawn chair or blanket.

Each week this season, the O'Hara Commons Wednesday Farmers Market will have 8 local food producers and growers, live music, seating to take a moment to enjoy the music and let the kids visit, a weekly children's activity different every week, a family-friendly beverage station, and a featured non-profit booth. The Library is partnering with the Fire Department, Police Department, Bitterroot Heath Ambulance Services, Bitterroot Disposal, Wimp’s Body Works, Donaldson Brothers, the City of Hamilton, and the Montana National Guard to offer a free opportunity to explore large vehicles and discover how they work.

50-Mile Yard Sale

Jun 24-25, 8am-4pm
Shoppers will have hundreds of yard sales to visit in the 50 mile stretch of highway 93. Ravalli Fairgrounds will be a Hot Spot offering 10x10 booths for the 2 days at $25. Call the office or stop by to fill out an application. They'll have extensive parking for out-of-town shoppers, restrooms on site, lots of green lawn and picnic tables and an amazing location halfway down the route.
