Dear Colleagues,

Spring is almost here and we're excited for a busy period as we prepare for several fairs in our region, NAFSA, and the regional forum in September.  We will continue to provide information about the EducationUSA Academies and this week you'll find information about the Academy at Montana State University.  You can always find information about all of the academies here, and we are working to organize a webinar presentation by an Academy host institution.  Information about that presentation will be sent through the EUR listserv.

In the coming days you will receive an message about submitting a proposal to present at the Regional Forum.  That message will describe the type of topics appropriate for a presentation at the forum, and the process to submit a proposal.  You are strongly encouraged to consider this opportunity and please consult with your REAC about your concept.

Have a great week everyone,
Cheryl, Katia, and Peter

Summer Programs at The College of New Jersey (TCNJ)
This summer we are offering two English language programs for international students. We are hosting a summer Academy program in July 2017 that is a great way for students beginning or ending the equivalent of grades 9th, 10th and 11th in the U.S. to get a window into studying in the states.  If your centers see students who are U.S.-bound, the Academy program is a great opportunity for them to sample the variety of higher education institutions here in the Northeast New York City area.
Also, our university level programming is another great opportunity for rising and graduating seniors to gain American college credits and polish their English language abilities in an immersion setting.

    • Who Should Apply: Rising and graduating seniors in secondary/high school looking to gain American college credits and polish their English language skills in an immersion setting

Peanut Butter Diplomacy

March 1st was Peanut Butter Lovers Day. :-)
Peanut butter is one of those all-American foods that students coming to the U.S. are bound to encounter. Here is a video some of you may be interested in sharing on our EducationUSA social media platforms.  It could be a fun way for you to spark conversation about foods that students will likely encounter when they come to the U.S., meal plan options, foods from home that they might miss, etc.

Each week we look for a highlight from our centers to share with our colleagues at ECA in Washington.  If you have organized a special program or event which we can brag about, please submit a highlight via the google form and e-mail one or two excellent photos to Please include the name and date of the event in the subject line.

Please make sure to submit your event highlights using our Google form:
