We are now Radically Open!
We are pleased to bring Radically Open Dialectical Behavior Therapy (RO-DBT) to The New Beginnings Center! Aletheia Regier, our lead DBT therapist, is one of only nine clinicians in the state of California trained in this exciting new modality that targets behaviors of over-control.  RO-DBT is especially relevant for maladaptive perfectionists, workaholics, and those experiencing chronic depression, treatment-resistant anxiety disorders, anorexia nervosa, and autistic spectrum disorders. Through our new 30-week group, group members will learn valuable skills that can deepen relationships, increase effective communication, and comfort in novel, spontaneous situations.

Express and Explore:
An Art Therapy Group
Come join us for Express and Explore, a dedicated art therapy group facilitated by Carly Reifman, MA, AMFT at The New Beginnings Center. Where a formal art class may teach one specific artistic skills, an art therapy group focuses less on what the finished product looks like and more on the process of the art making. Here, we will use art as a language for our emotional challenges and triumphs.

No artistic skill is required to join, and no one will be graded on the outcome of their work. There is no judgement, only self-expressive exploration!

Trauma Sensitive Yoga is Here!
Traumatic events happen to everyone and can lead to isolation and feelings of hopelessness. Traumatic stressors can result in chronic pain, disordered eating, addiction, insomnia, anxiety and depression. A trauma-informed yoga practice is sensitive to the needs of a participant with trauma symptoms and offers them tools to feel safe, empowered, and self-regulated. It is about feeling safe and at-home in your body so that you can feel stable, have good self-esteem, and healthy relationships. There will also be group sharing and discussion at the end of class to reflect and share experiences.
