HEALTH AND SAFETY IN THE WORKPLACE

Workplace Health and safety is about people, which is why it is such an important topic for us to discuss. WorkSafe have recently launched a campaign to support the new Act which has had positive support from NZ’s largest and most successful companies. But it is not just large companies, or manufacturing companies, or construction companies… it is relative to all of us. 

There are some very valuable tools available online such as Work Safe that offer simple tips to all types of business to help prevent workplace incidents and promote a safer environment for your talent and customers alike. We are also starting to see the next evolution coming through with more focus on prevention – be it wellbeing, mindfulness or education. 

Businesses that adopt these principles are also seeing an increase in their performance – talent is more committed to their employers, customers are more loyal and profitability is on the increase. Or to borrow a quote from one of the most successful “businesses” on the planet – “Better People Make Better All Blacks”.
