I hope this email finds you and your families all well and safe.
Only a few weeks into 2021 and we already have a lot to process. The continuing Covid pandemic, the vaccine, the presidential election, and the events of the past few weeks in our nation’s capital have challenged our collective hope that a return to “normal” is close at hand.
For many of us, The Kehilah, led by Rosh Kehilah Najman, has been a calm in the storm of the past year. We were very active throughout 2020. Our R"K provided spiritual guidance and counseling to so many of our members who had to navigate a variety of spiritual, physical, financial and mental challenges. Weekly Shabbat morning davening and daily Zoom Mincha/Maariv became our new norm in helping to fulfill the spiritual needs of our congregants. Our weekday shiurim never stopped but rather expanded. And we continued to push the orthodox community in promoting participation irrespective of gender.
To continue these efforts into 2021, we need your support. You were all generous with The Kehilah in 2020 and with your support — and some help from the federal government — we made it through a challenging financial year.
At this time I would ask you to renew your Kehilah membership for 2021 now with a $500 membership donation. For those fortunate families that can, I ask you to consider an $1,800 membership donation. And for those of you who continue to experience financial hardship, I ask you to contribute only what you can, knowing that all of our members are treated equally and with the same respect regardless of their financial contribution to The Kehilah.
Once again, I thank you for your continued support.
With warm regards and wishes for a healthy and fulfilling 2021.
