Higher expensing levels under IRS Section 179, for the past two years, have allowed boat business owners to take the full depreciation deduction of their boat / equipment in the current tax year, with a maximum deduction of $500,000 and a phase-out threshold of $2 million. We expect to hear the verdict this week and all indications are that it will be reinstated.If so, be ready to make your purchases immediately. Remember, the equipment has to be available for service the same year, that means BEFORE December 31st, 2015!
