BG school board selects Mary Snitily as new District 1 director

The Battle Ground Public Schools Board of Directors has selected former education professional Mary Snitily to fill the District 1 director position left vacant when long-time board member Monty Anderson resigned last month. Snitily brings 21 years of experience in public and private education to the role. She has served as a teacher, a math specialist, a principal, a district curriculum director, and as an assistant superintendent. Snitily has experience writing and administering federal education grants, assessing and adopting new school curriculum, planning and managing annual budgets, and participating in contract negotiations. Read more on the district website

Battle Ground’s 2020 Citizen of the Year helped keep hungry families fed

Scott Keller organized a USDA food box program and helped hand out over 15,000 boxes of food last year

A common sight during this pandemic year has been a line of vehicles working their way through the Lewisville Intermediate campus in Battle Ground, as dozens of volunteers hand out boxes of food to families in need.

The man behind that food box program was recognized for his efforts this week with the 2020 Battle Ground Citizen of the Year award. Read more on Clark County Today's website
